Ces deux expositions soulignaient également la radicalité des démarches de bon nombre de plasticiens contemporains dont les pratiques interrogent les usages, le sens ou le contenu, voire la notion de « décoratif ».\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSi en 1995, il s’agissait uniquement d’éléments de mobilier (Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand) en 2016 l’exposition était centrée autour de Jean Prouvé dont une maison démontable 6x6 dite « Maison des Sinistrés de Lorraine » était remontée dans la galerie. Parmi les artistes invités, dont certains ont participé aux deux éditions, guraient : John M Armleder, Richard Artschwager, Bertrand Lavier, Louise Lawler, Adam McEwen, Albert Oehlen, Haim Steinbach, Rudolf Stingel, Franz West, ... Pour les artistes participants, le nom de Jean Prouvé évoque le lien visionnaire et unique entre art et industrie. Leurs pièces présentées en vis-à-vis des créations de Jean Prouvé mettaient en lumière la singularité d’une approche esthétique sans concession liée à la fonctionnalité d’un meuble ou d’une architecture.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCet ouvrage de plus de 200 pages illustre les deux volets de l’exposition réalisés à vingt ans d’intervalle.
