How can we reconnect our habitat to its territory, taking into account its climate, geography, built heritage and resources (techniques and materials)? And how can we take advantage of this recontextualization to provide architectural solutions to today's ecological challenges? To answer these essential questions, Anatomies d'Architecture, following its Tour de France of ecological houses, proposes to approach sustainable construction through an exemplary experiment. The renovation of a traditional Norman house with unprecedented ambitions: 0% concrete, 0% plastic and 100% natural materials sourced within a radius of less than 100 km. Hemp insulation, raw earth rendering, chestnut and oak frameworks, reuse of traditional bricks, recycled corks, foundations made from acacia trunks, floors made from reused window wood... This book presents construction techniques using materials capable of decarbonizing our buildings, and provides all the keys needed to adopt this approach and duplicate it throughout the region.
