Rene Ricard 1979-1980 est le premier recueil du poète et artiste américain Rene Ricard, icône de l'underground new-yorkais des années 1970, figure de la Warhol Factory et du Chelsea Hotel, compagnon de route de Julian Schnabel, Jean-Michel Basquiat et Gerard Malanga, édité pour la première fois par la Dia Art Foundation en 1979. Cette nouvelle édition présente, dans un nouveau format, la maquette originale du livre reproduite en fac-similé et la première traduction française des poèmes.

Rene Ricard est un peintre, poète, et critique d'art américain né en 1946 à Acushnet (Massachussetts). À 18 ans, il rejoint New York et intègre la scène artistique underground. Il écrit de nombreux articles (notamment dans Artforum, Art in America, etc.) et édite plusieurs livres de poésie. Il développe parallèlement une œuvre picturale, où l'écrit tient une place importante. Il vit à New York jusqu'à sa mort, survenue en 2014.

Rene Ricard 1979-1980 is the first collection of American poet and artist Rene Ricard's poetry, first published by the Dia Art Foundation in 1979. This new edition presents, in a new format, both the original book design reproduced as a facsimile and the first French translation of Ricard's poems.

Rene Ricard was an American painter, poet, and art critic born in 1946 in Acushnet (Massachussetts). At age 18, he moved to New York and joined the underground art scene. He wrote many articles (notably, for Artforum and Art in America, among others), and published several poetry books. In his paintings, developed in parralel to his poetry, writing features prominently . He lived in New York until his untimely death in 2014.

For posters and prints, we roll them into a sturdy cardboard tube and then pack the tube into a cardboard box. However, please note that certain products, such as books and posters, may not be able to be packed together. As a result, orders with different product types or sizes may be subject to double shipping fees.

We offer worldwide shipping via French national post service, La Poste's Colissimo, Priority Mail, or Delivengo. The shipping fees for your order will be automatically calculated based on factors such as package weight, volume, and destination. If you prefer us to use a different carrier service such as UPS, FedEx, or DHL, please contact us prior to placing your order.

In-store pickup
You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at our bookshop in Paris. After placing your order and selecting local pickup at checkout, your order will be prepared and ready for pick up within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). We will send you an email when your order is ready along with instructions.

Our in-store pickup hours are from 10am to 7pm from Tuesday to Saturday, from 2pm to 7pm on Sunday. Please have your order confirmation email with you when you come.
