“There is no death of the book!
The book, spiritual instrument (“le livre, instrument spirituel”): This is the title of a chapter of “Quant au livre” (Concerning the Book). This poetic homage to the book comes from the French poet Stéphane Mallarmé. The unusual formulation reflects the special charisma and significance of this object. For a book is not merely dead matter! In occidental philosophy, for example, the book is also a symbol for the world. But that it can be more than a passive image of the world is shown by thoughts that can be found in different currents. According to Jewish tradition, for example, we are inscribed anew in the Book of Life every New Year. However, we ourselves have it in the hand, what is written in it; thus we become quasi co-authors of our book of life. This means at the same time that the book does not only represent the world, but creates this only! This creative aspect possesses the book also beyond contents. Indeed, books are fascinating objects in their own right; they are not simply containers for meaning-laden letters. We also notice this when it comes to looking for a place for them in our domestic environment. How and where we store books can be just as significant.
As a rule, books go on a shelf. And there, their placement follows a certain organizational pattern. But how do we go about it? Do we set this pattern according to the content, do we follow their appearance or do we leave the “order” to chance? Each book has a certain weight and extension, it has a particular color and materiality. This diversity calls for a certain order. How we order something also reflects our way of thinking; in doing so, however, we are often guided by social norms or frozen concepts. And yet it is precisely in our dealings with the simple world of things that a spark of our primordial creativity shimmers through. This is also true for the way we present books.
For example, we make bookends by converting other objects into them. Or we use artistic- looking everyday sculptures for this purpose. Like books, these objects have a character of their own. More than that, in fact: interestingly, they also enter into a dialogue with the books they support. Just as books reflect the infinite diversity of the world, this is also reflected in the different look of the bookends. Book and bookend react to each other in a mimetic way. This collection of bookends reflects not only the versatility through which these objects begin to take on a life of their own in our homes, but also the diversity of their users. The “ends” can equally be read as the beginnings of a new social order. “There is no death of the book, but rather a new way of reading,” state the two philosophers Gilles Delleuze and Félix Guattari in their wonderful text “Rhizome”1. For every book invites us to appropriate what we have read in an individual way. In doing so, we multiply our view of our existence; we liberate thinking from conventions. This does not necessarily mean that we have to understand a text, rather the book is a tool of our perception of the world. It is, just as Mallarmé notes, also a spiritual instrument. Bookends reflect exactly this special tool-character.”

Toutes les autres commandes sont traitées et préparées pour l'expédition dans un délai de 1 à 2 jours ouvrables. - Notifications de commande
Vous recevrez un e-mail de confirmation après votre achat. Un second e-mail contenant les informations de suivi vous sera envoyé dès que votre commande aura été expédiée. - Réapprovisionnement
Il arrive occasionnellement qu'un article soit en cours de réapprovisionnement. Si cela entraîne un retard dans la préparation de votre commande, nous vous contacterons directement par e-mail pour vous en informer.
2. Expédition et Livraison
- Emballage
Nous emballons chaque commande avec soin pour garantir qu'elle arrive en toute sécurité. Les affiches et les tirages sont roulés et placés dans un tube en carton rigide, qui est ensuite sécurisé dans une boîte d'expédition.

Veuillez noter que certains articles, comme les livres et les affiches, ne peuvent pas être emballés ensemble en toute sécurité en raison de leurs formes et tailles différentes. Par conséquent, une commande contenant plusieurs types d'articles peut être expédiée dans des colis séparés et entraîner des frais d'expédition distincts. - Tarifs et Transporteurs
Nous expédions dans le monde entier depuis Paris via La Poste (le service postal national français), en utilisant leurs services Colissimo, Courrier Prioritaire ou Delivengo. Les frais d'expédition sont calculés automatiquement lors du paiement en fonction du poids, du volume et de la destination de votre colis. Si vous souhaitez utiliser un transporteur différent (par exemple, UPS, FedEx, DHL), veuillez nous contacter avant de passer votre commande pour organiser cela. - Délais de transit estimés

3. Retrait gratuit en librairie
Vous pouvez éviter les frais d'expédition grâce à notre service de retrait local gratuit à notre librairie à Paris.

Retour
- Retours sous 30 jours : Vous pouvez retourner l'article dans les 30 jours suivant la livraison, à condition qu'il soit neuf et non utilisé.
- Contactez-nous d'abord : Envoyez-nous toujours un e-mail à shop@yvon-lambert.com avant de retourner un article. Nous vous guiderons tout au long du processus.
- Frais de livraison : Les frais de retour sont à votre charge. Veuillez noter que les frais de livraison initiaux ne sont pas remboursables.
- Échanges : Oui, nous proposons des échanges. Contactez-nous pour organiser l'échange. Les frais d'expédition sont à votre charge.
- Article endommagé : Si votre commande arrive endommagée, veuillez nous envoyer des photos par e-mail dans les 48 heures. Si le colis semble très endommagé à la réception, vous pouvez refuser la livraison.
- Retours internationaux : Vous devez écrire clairement « MARCHANDISES RETOURNÉES » à l'extérieur du colis pour éviter les frais de douane.
- Remboursements : Une fois que nous aurons approuvé votre retour, votre remboursement sera traité selon votre mode de paiement d'origine.
