The sixth edition is titled ‘The Archipelago Conversations’ and is based on 15 years of conversations between Caribbean philosopher Édouard Glissant and his friend Hans Ulrich Obrist. It marks the tenth anniversary of Glissant's passing. Translation by Emma Ramadan.
Hans Ulrich Obrist met the Martinique-born philosopher, poet, and revolutionary Édouard Glissant in the mid-nineties; the encounter influenced the direction of Obrist's work for years to come. As one of today's most prolific producers of culture, Obrist has left an indelible mark and Glissant, in part, through him. Throughout 2021, during the pandemic and ten years after Glissant's death, Obrist has edited, reworked, and arranged their conversations in their entirety for the first time. THE ARCHIPELAGO CONVERSATIONS is the result: a book designed to introduce the most important philosopher of the 21st Century to a broad, public audience - a ready-to-hand tool for building an interdependent Earth.
Hans Ulrich Obrist (1968) is artistic director of the Serpentine Galleries in London. Prior to this, he was the curator of the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. He has curated more than three hundred shows since 1991. Obrist's recent publications include Lives of the Artists, Lives of the Architects (2015), Mondialité (2017), Somewhere Totally Else (2018), The Extreme Self: Age of You (2021).
Édouard Glissant (1928 - 2011) was a French writer, poet, philosopher, and literary critic from Martinique. He is widely recognised as one of the most influential figures in Caribbean thought and cultural commentary and Francophone literature. Glissant was a disciple and fellow countryman of the poet Aimé Césaire, who founded the Negritude movement to promote an African culture free of all colonial influences. This led him into political action, founding The Antillean-Guyanese Front with other writers, such as Béville and Corsnay Marie-Joseph, and fought for the independence of the French West Indies and Guiana from France's rule. He became the father-figure for the Créolité group of writers that includes Patrick Chamoiseau and Raphaël Confiant.

You will receive a confirmation email immediately after your purchase. A second email with tracking information will be sent as soon as your order has shipped. - Restocking
Occasionally, some item may be in the process of restocking. If this causes a delay in preparing your order, we will contact you directly by email to inform you.
2. Shipping & Delivery
- Packaging
We pack every order with care to ensure it arrives safely. Posters and prints are rolled and placed in a sturdy cardboard tube, which is then secured in a shipping box.
Important Note on Combined Orders:
Please be aware that certain items, like books and posters, cannot be safely packed together due to their different shapes and sizes. As a result, an order containing multiple item types may be shipped in separate packages and incur separate shipping fees. - Shipping Rates & Carriers
We ship worldwide from Paris via La Poste (France's national postal service), using their Colissimo, Priority Mail services with the exception of certain products shipped via UPS. Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout based on the weight, volume, and destination of your package. If you require a different carrier (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL), please contact us before placing your order to arrange it. - Estimated Transit Times
Once your order has shipped, the estimated delivery times are as follows:

3. Free In-Store Pickup (Paris)
You can skip the shipping fees with our free local pickup service at our bookshop in Paris.
- How it Works:
Simply select the "Pick up" option at checkout.
* The "Pick up" option is displayed based on your location. If you are ordering from outside of France but wish to collect your order at our bookshop in Paris, please select "France" as the delivery country first. The "Pick up" option will then become available. If the location still does not appear, you can click on "Search elsewhere" and enter the postcode 75003. - Preparation Time:
In-stock items will be ready for pickup within 24 hours (Tuesday-Saturday). This does not apply to made-to-order items like art prints and t-shirts. - Notification:
We will send you an email as soon as your order is ready for collection, along with instructions. - Pickup Hours:

Return Policy
- 14 to 30-Day Returns: You have 14 clear days from delivery to notify us of your return if you reside within the European Union, and 30 days for orders delivered outside the European Union.
- Item Condition: Items must be returned intact, new, and securely packaged in their original condition to be eligible for a refund.
- Contact Us First: Before sending an item back, you must email us at shop@yvon-lambert.com to notify us of your decision and receive return instructions.
- Shipping Costs: Return shipping costs are your sole responsibility.
- Damaged Items: If your order arrives damaged, please send us photographs of both the package and the item by email as soon as possible (within 48 to 72 hours). If the package is visibly damaged upon delivery, you may refuse it directly with the carrier.
- International Returns (Non EU): To prevent customs charges upon arrival in France, you must clearly mark "RETURNED GOODS" on the customs declaration form (CN22/CN23) as well as on the outside of the package.
- Refunds: Once your return is received and inspected at our store, your refund will be processed within 14 days using your original payment method.
- Non-refundable Items: Magazines and custom or made-to-order items are non-refundable.
