A collection of large-sized works printed in triple black.

Aona Hayashi, who is active as an illustrator in magazines and advertisements, began presenting abstract paintings as a painter around 2016. She has deep black ink and impulsive lines. Primitive shapes such as circles and triangles. Almost unconsciously, she faces the paper and moves her hands earnestly. Far away from thought and meaning, just there. By not having a message, it is possible to return to the pure things of "seeing" and "feeling", and the consciousness of those who confront the work naturally becomes free.

The works included in the collection are the past works presented at the solo exhibition "Tenten" (2017), the solo exhibition "BOTTLE, APPLE" (2018), and the solo exhibition "CHROMONO" (2019), as well as the new works drawn for the collection. . Rather than categorizing by age or series, the layout is boldly enlarged and trimmed.

The highlight is the printing by Yamada Photo Engraving in Toyama. Usually, black and white printing is done with only one plate, but this time we made three plates and used a technique called "triple black", which uses black ink for all of them. By layering black, black, and black ink on top of each other, a powerful effect is created that is as strong as Sumi ink. The faintness of the brush and the gradation of the ink are faithfully reproduced from the original, so I hope you will enjoy the nuances in the black. Hayashi's works, which have both strength and tranquility, invite the viewer into a primitive world. Please enjoy the black of Sumi and the shapes that are born from it.
