Mircea Cantor - Permanent Leak
“Permanent Leak” is an original work in the form of an accordion book in a slipcase.
The book is a facsimile of a frieze of pencil rubbings on paper of ears of wheat, coins from around the world from the collections of La Monnaie de Paris, and a representation of barbed wire composed by the artist with his fingerprints. When opened, the book measures over six meters.
The book is printed on Japanese rice paper made especially for the occasion. It is bound in a 24-panel accordion binding in 3 superimposed papers. The box is dressed in red marouflaged silk, double suede velvet interior. The photoengraving and the Fine Art print of Mircea Cantor’s work are made in Paris, at Les Artisans du Regard, on Inbe Thin White 70gr/m2 paper from Awagami Factory. The binding and boxing were done by the Reliure du Centre in Limoges. Xavier Barral ensured the good realization of the work.
