Dans les livres de Suzanne Doppelt, et dans son travail photographique, la question du regard a toujours été essentielle. Il s’agit avec ce nouveau texte, en prose poétique, d’y revenir une fois encore, autour d’un axe central, un parc londonien, dédoublé, démultiplié dans l’image, lieu d’apparition, de disparition, de métamorphoses et de perspectives multiples au milieu duquel le regard se perd. On accompagne Thomas, photographe, spectateur et voyeur, qui joue au limier, pour se demander ce qu’est ne pas voir, être aveugle en somme, d’autant plus lorsque l’on fait profession des images.

Pour ce nouveau livre Suzanne Doppelt s’inspire de l’histoire de Blow-up, le film de Michelangelo Antonioni. Au beau milieu d’un parc londonien, un couple s’agite étrangement sous l’oeil d’un photographe venu là par hasard qui les prend alors à la pointe de son viseur. Quand il comprend qu’il a peut-être assisté à un crime tandis qu’il pensait photographier une simple rencontre, le parc devient un théâtre. La scène, d’ordinaire banale, s’ouvre et se ferme en même temps, elle devient une scène de genre qu’il va tenter d’élucider dans le bain chimique de son laboratoire. Le photographe a vu ce qu’il ne verra plus ou a cru voir ou n’a peut-être pas vu, un meurtre a sans doute eu lieu, le parc est un piège inouï pour son regard mais rien n’aboutira, l’énigme est irrésolue.

Packing and Shipping Rates

For posters and prints, we roll them into a sturdy cardboard tube and then pack the tube into a cardboard box. However, please note that certain products, such as books and posters, may not be able to be packed together. As a result, orders with different product types or sizes may be subject to double shipping fees.

We offer worldwide shipping via French national post service, La Poste's Colissimo, Priority Mail, or Delivengo. The shipping fees for your order will be automatically calculated based on factors such as package weight, volume, and destination. If you prefer us to use a different carrier service such as UPS, FedEx, or DHL, please contact us prior to placing your order.

In-store pickup
You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at our bookshop in Paris. After placing your order and selecting local pickup at checkout, your order will be prepared and ready for pick up within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). We will send you an email when your order is ready along with instructions.

Our in-store pickup hours are from 10am to 7pm from Tuesday to Saturday, from 2pm to 7pm on Sunday. Please have your order confirmation email with you when you come.
