The diversity of a flea market proves fertile ground for andrew bush, whose portraits of people posing with their random purchases offer a fresh perspective on our rapport with objects. His sensitive series pushes back against a disposable culture, revealing that even the most timeworn items can have value to someone out there. Each, a treasure in the eye of the beholder.
All photographs were taken in the late 1990's in California.
Andrew Bush resides in Los Angeles. He uses photography to portray people through the environments they live in, (Bonnettstown: A House in Ireland), the cars they drive, (Drive), and the things that circulate through their lives. His work is represented by M+B Gallery, Los Angeles, and Yossi Milo Gallery, New York.
