From November 8 to 16, 2025, the Galerie Yvon Lambert will present an exhibition dedicated to Miquel Barceló based on “Le Bestiaire ou Cortège d'Orphée”.
The exhibition brings together all the original lithographs from the artist's book, offering the opportunity to discover it in its entirety—a rare and precious book.
At the crossroads of poetry and art, “Le Bestiaire ou Cortège d'Orphée” brings together the writing of Guillaume Apollinaire and the artistry of Miquel Barceló in an exceptional work.
This book is the latest addition to the bibliophile collection Une rêverie émanée de mes loisirs, launched by Yvon Lambert in 1992. “Le Bestiaire ou Cortège d'Orphée” is the XXXIII volume in this unique collection.
Conceived as a vibrant tribute to the poet's imagination, it gives rise to an incandescent bestiary. Miquel Barceló presents twenty-four original color lithographs, produced at the Atelier Clot, Bramsen & Co in Paris. Folded into triptychs and printed on BFK Rives paper, they form a procession of powerful, organic images, in which each animal becomes the embodiment of a vital force. The plates, punctuated with tailpieces engraved by the artist, are accompanied by titles and texts calligraphied by the artist's own hand, giving the whole a coherence that is both visual and poetic.
This book, printed in a limited edition of 150 copies, of which only 108 are available for sale, is presented in a wooden box covered with printed canvas and branded with a hot iron.
From this work, the following were produced:
One hundred and eight copies numbered from 1 to 108
Twenty-five copies for the artist, marked EA1 to EA25
Twelve copies with names, unnumbered
Fifteen copies not for sale, numbered from I to XV
All copies are signed and numbered by the artist
Printing completed in June 2025
