Jun Iwasaki’s To Find The Right Chair pursues musings of the mind forming mental pictures of scenes of consciousness. The scene hangs there but occasionally there might emerge a glimpse of a metaphor.
Throughout his shooting, he feels sympathy for subjects, by projecting his emotions onto them, associating and harmonizing with what he sees.
He is not a photographer yet, he is just an ordinary guy {trying to live a daily life}. For him, photography is a medium to express thought; like going to the supermarket to get the ingredients to cook soup for your friends.

This book has 20 coloured and 2 b/w photographs taken with a small-format camera in 10 different cities where the photographer used to live, or visit, between 2012 and 2020.
Each photo presents an historical yet insignificant moment in Iwasaki’s visual poetry.
Iwasaki has been contributing for International magazines and media, shops such as Kennedy Magazine, buik, Gateway, VICE, Red Bull, Urban Renaissance Agency.
First Edition of 350 copies. Special editions of 25 copies, numbered, signed 100 years archival inkjet print on William Turner 190g/m2 in paperboard slipcase.

About packing.
In an effort to avoid using a large amount of bubble wrap by choosing a cardboard designed to withstand damage. Biomass film is used for the shrink wrapping for waterproofing and storage, making our packing simplicity ecologically.

Cairo Apartment
Cairo Apartment is an independent publishing house founded by Jun Iwasaki and Seiko Morikawa in between Tokyo, Japan and Antwerp, Belgium in 2020, currently based in Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan.
Cairo Apartment produces books as objects, approaching the artist's intentions with the utmost care, then complementing and sharing those intentions via the details of the book itself. Our aesthetic telegraphs and extends the context of the work; the ambience of the book is interactively derived from the story within, creating a literary spatial assemblage. Book = object.
We are named after the historical apartment in Melbourne, Australia where the two founders first lived together, where all our fundamental inspiration came from. Completed in 1936, its modest Art Deco residence has been designated as an important architectural cultural property of the city.
