Nobuyoshi Araki
Instants

Exhibition from March 6 to April 12, 2026

The exhibition, entitled Instants, brings together a selection of Polaroids by Nobuyoshi Araki taken between 2006 and 2016, in which the female body interacts with natural motifs — flowers, insects, organic elements. Through their immediacy and intimate format, these images reinforce the direct dimension of his work and demonstrate a continuity in the themes addressed over the years.

A major figure in contemporary Japanese photography since the 1960s, Araki has developed a prolific body of work that articulates intimacy, eroticism, mourning, and observation of the city of Tokyo. Although his work occupies a central place in the history of photography, it continues to provoke debate and controversy, inviting careful observation of these moments captured between Eros and Thanatos.
