The SOWDEN Lamp PL5 has been designed and developed with dual functionality - it can be used both as fixed lighting when connected to a power supply with a USB cable, or it can be used as moveable lamp using the Li-ion battery supplied.
When used as fixed lighting, which could be on a bedside table, between books on a shelf or on an office desk, the dual functionality allows direct connection to a power supply with a USB cable, and even if the battery is not inserted, the lamp will work perfectly.
If used as a moveable lamp, SOWDEN supplies one 18650 2600mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery making the lamp convenient in places where electrical connections are not easily available - this gives the possibility to take light safely anywhere indoors or outdoors
PL5 has three brightness settings, which can be set by gently touching the top of the lamp - full brightness is 250 lumens maximum from our SOWDEN LightDisc 01.
The single 18650 2600mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery is easily fitted and is replaceable whenever needed – it can be swapped with a fully charged one rather than relying on recharging with the USB – for example, in restaurants changing the batteries can be done quickly, and customers are never left in the dark.
The light source is a Sowden LightDisc-01, and the single 18650 2600mAh battery are both fully replaceable when required.
It takes approximately three hours to fully charge the battery.

1. Order Processing & Production
We process orders from Tuesday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
- Made-to-Order Items (Photo prints & T-Shirts)
Our photo prints and t-shirts are produced on-demand. Please allow 2-3 weeks for production before these items are shipped. - In-Stock Items (All Other Products)
All other orders are processed and prepared for shipment within 1-2 business days. - Order Notifications
You will receive a confirmation email immediately after your purchase. A second email with tracking information will be sent as soon as your order has shipped. - Restocking
Occasionally, some item may be in the process of restocking. If this causes a delay in preparing your order, we will contact you directly by email to inform you.
2. Shipping & Delivery
- Packaging
We pack every order with care to ensure it arrives safely. Posters and prints are rolled and placed in a sturdy cardboard tube, which is then secured in a shipping box.
Important Note on Combined Orders:
Please be aware that certain items, like books and posters, cannot be safely packed together due to their different shapes and sizes. As a result, an order containing multiple item types may be shipped in separate packages and incur separate shipping fees. - Shipping Rates & Carriers
We ship worldwide from Paris via La Poste (France's national postal service), using their Colissimo, Priority Mail services. Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout based on the weight, volume, and destination of your package. If you require a different carrier (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL), please contact us before placing your order to arrange it. - Estimated Transit Times
Once your order has shipped, the estimated delivery times are as follows:

Europe: 3-5 business days
International: 5-8 business days
Standard / Priority Mail (With tracking number, No Signature)

3. Free In-Store Pickup (Paris)
You can skip the shipping fees with our free local pickup service at our bookshop in Paris.
- How it Works:
Simply select the "Pick up" option at checkout.
* The "Pick up" option is displayed based on your location. If you are ordering from outside of France but wish to collect your order at our bookshop in Paris, please select "France" as the delivery country first. The "Pick up" option will then become available. If the location still does not appear, you can click on "Search elsewhere" and enter the postcode 75003. - Preparation Time:
In-stock items will be ready for pickup within 24 hours (Tuesday-Saturday). This does not apply to made-to-order items like art prints and t-shirts. - Notification:
We will send you an email as soon as your order is ready for collection, along with instructions. - Pickup Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM (10h - 19h)
Sunday: 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM (14h - 19h) - What to Bring:

Return Policy
- 14 to 30-Day Returns: You have 14 clear days from delivery to notify us of your return if you reside within the European Union, and 30 days for orders delivered outside the European Union.
- Item Condition: Items must be returned intact, new, and securely packaged in their original condition to be eligible for a refund.
- Contact Us First: Before sending an item back, you must email us at shop@yvon-lambert.com to notify us of your decision and receive return instructions.
- Shipping Costs: Return shipping costs are your sole responsibility.
- Damaged Items: If your order arrives damaged, please send us photographs of both the package and the item by email as soon as possible (within 48 to 72 hours). If the package is visibly damaged upon delivery, you may refuse it directly with the carrier.
- International Returns (Non EU): To prevent customs charges upon arrival in France, you must clearly mark "RETURNED GOODS" on the customs declaration form (CN22/CN23) as well as on the outside of the package.
- Refunds: Once your return is received and inspected at our store, your refund will be processed within 14 days using your original payment method.
- Non-refundable Items: Magazines and custom or made-to-order items are non-refundable.
