Gérard Traquandi & Blaise Cendrars
Les Pâques à New York

French artist Gérard Traquandi develops a body of work focused on gesture, matter, and light. Here, he enters into dialogue with French-Swiss writer and poet Blaise Cendrars (1887–1961), a major figure of early 20th-century literary avant-garde.

This publication gathers nineteen watermarked 35 gsm pages featuring Blaise Cendrars’ poem “Les Pâques à New York” [Easter in New York] (1912), originally published in the collection Du monde entier by Nouvelle Revue Française in 1919.

Each copy is enhanced by an original drawing by Gérard Traquandi inside, as well as a unique original drawing by the artist on the cover. The entire work is housed in a custom slipcase. This edition was produced with the assistance of Xavier Martinez, with Jacques Bréjoux crafting the custom watermarked paper.
