Flammariousss

South Korean contemporary artist Koo Jeong-A collaborates on this volume with the celebrated French novelist, poet, and philosopher Édouard Glissant (1928–2011).

Titled “Flammariousss”, this publication reimagines the complete text of the Flammarion dictionary, into which the artist inserted a new definition for a fictitious word of her own creation: “Ousss”. The work is completed by Édouard Glissant’s essay, “Qu’en est-il des mots ?” [What About Words?].

The text was set in Helvetica and Cooper Black types and printed by SNEL Graphics (Liège, Belgium) on fuchsia 80 gsm Antalis Corfou Superieur paper. Bound in green cloth, the volume is housed in a white slipcase.
