Seoul is the only megacity in the world where more than 25% of the territory consists of forested hills woven directly into the urban fabric. In Seoul Mini-Mountains, Swiss architect Géraldine Borio examines 24 of these overlooked hills, uncovering how they have shaped the history, planning, and everyday life of the city.
Using historical maps, GIS data, aerial photography, and fieldwork, Borio interprets these hills as “voids” within the “solid” density of the metropolis — not empty spaces, but transitional zones of identity, memory, and resilience. Each chapter traces how these minimountains evolved through Joseon dynasty geomancy, Japanese colonial interventions, rapid postwar urbanization, and contemporary green space planning, revealing Seoul as a “city of voids”.
The book accompanies an exhibition held at the Seoul Museum of History (2024–2025) and is designed as an experimental French-fold art book, echoing the texture of maps while blending academic rigor with visual exploration.
Dr Géraldine Borio is the founder of Borio Lab and an Assistant Professor at The University of Hong Kong, Department of Architecture. Dr Borio is a Swiss-registered architect who holds a PhD in architecture from RMIT, Australia, as well as a master’s degree in architecture from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Invested widely in knowledge transmission through teaching, research and publication, Dr Borio has conducted numerous workshops and lectures worldwide. Prior to that, she co-founded Parallel Lab (2010-2015) and has been working with various firms in Tokyo, Beijing and Hong Kong. Her research and her architectural work have been exhibited at Vitra Museum; Rotterdam Architecture Biennale; M+ Museum, Hong Kong; the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism; Zurich University of the Arts; Saint-Etienne Design Biennale; Beijing Design Week; Hong Kong School of Design; and the ICI Curatorial Hub, New York. Amongst other publications, she is the author of the books Looking for the Voids (Park Books, 2023) and co-author of Hong Kong In-Between (MCCM Creations & Park Books, 2015).

2. Shipping & Delivery
- Packaging
We pack every order with care to ensure it arrives safely. Posters and prints are rolled and placed in a sturdy cardboard tube, which is then secured in a shipping box.
Important Note on Combined Orders:
Please be aware that certain items, like books and posters, cannot be safely packed together due to their different shapes and sizes. As a result, an order containing multiple item types may be shipped in separate packages and incur separate shipping fees. - Shipping Rates & Carriers
We ship worldwide from Paris via La Poste (France's national postal service), using their Colissimo, Priority Mail, or Delivengo services. Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout based on the weight, volume, and destination of your package. If you require a different carrier (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL), please contact us before placing your order to arrange it. - Estimated Transit Times

3. Free In-Store Pickup (Paris)
You can skip the shipping fees with our free local pickup service at our bookshop in Paris.

In-stock items will be ready for pickup within 24 hours (Tuesday-Saturday). This does not apply to made-to-order items like art prints and t-shirts. - Notification:

Return Policy
- 30-Day Returns: You can return any item within 30 days of delivery, as long as it's in new, unused condition.
- Contact Us First: Always email us at shop@yvon-lambert.com before sending anything back. We’ll guide you through the process.
- Shipping Costs: You are responsible for return shipping costs. Please note that original shipping fees are non-refundable.
- Exchanges: Yes, we offer exchanges. Contact us to arrange it. You will need to cover the new shipping fee.
- Damaged Item: If your order arrives damaged, email us photos within 48 hours. If the box looks badly damaged upon arrival, you can refuse the delivery.
- International Returns: You must write "RETURNED GOODS" clearly on the outside of the package to avoid customs fees.
