Italian artist Giuseppe Penone (b. 1947) is a founding member of the Arte Povera movement. Echoing the format of a herbarium, this publication features prints of the artist’s body, specifically his hands.
Titled “16 pagine” [16 pages], the edition gathers varnished photographs of a herbarium created by Penone, alongside an Italian text accompanied by its French translation.
Photogravure and Fine Art printing of Penone’s works were executed in Paris by Les Artisans du Regard, who also printed the texts set in Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk type. Printed on 350 gsm Fedrigoni Cotton Wove Premium paper, the prints were varnished at Atelier Éric Seydoux in Paris.
The binding and custom slipcase were produced by Établissements Dermont-Duval, with Xavier Barral and Stéphane Crémer supervising the production of the edition.
