A central figure of American Conceptual Art, Lawrence Weiner (1942–2021) placed language at the heart of his practice, emphasizing the dematerialization of the artwork in favor of text.

Titled “À fripon, fripon et demi”, this edition explores the concept of the copy by pairing two distinct volumes. The section containing Jean-Claude Lebensztejn’s essay “Une rêverie émanée de mes loisirs” is set in extra-condensed Franklin Gothic type and letterpress-printed by René Jeanne. Weiner designed the publication in two complementary parts: first, a volume featuring a central intervention typeset by Pierre Ouchacoff, screen printed by Éric Seydoux on 180 gsm BFK Rives paper, and bound by Les Reliures du Centre; second, an exact duplicate printed entirely in letterpress in French Gauloise blue ink on 115 gsm Cyclus paper. 

The complete edition pairs the original book with its facsimile, housed in an innovative glass slipcase designed by Christian Biecher and crafted by Guillaume Salburg.
