Relaunched for the first time in five years.

The cover fashion story features photographer Torbjørn Rødland, and the editorial pages include work by world-renowned photographers such as Mikiko Hara and Raymond Meeks. Additionally, Keitaro Niwa has shot a new series for GUCCI, Rei Kuroda for Dior, and Tsubasa Kawaguchi for Comme Des Garçons Homme Plus.

The journal section features art works and interviews with Martin Margiela and Masao Yamamoto, as well as a curated page on Miyako Island in Okinawa Prefecture by the cultural collective Zā, and special features on the young artist Ser Serpas and the YBA (Young British Artists), among other unique projects that set “VOSTOK” apart from other publications.

VOSTOK
Launched in 2019 by editor Sohei Oshiro. It will be relaunched in May 2026 as a bilingual magazine for men and women. The title means “Far East” and is also the name of the spacecraft that carried out humanity’s first successful manned spaceflight.

Centered around its biannual print edition, VOSTOK is a media platform that presents new values across various mediums, including exhibitions, video, digital content, and events. Transcending the confines of a mere print publication, it builds a unique worldview through a multi-layered approach that spans from physical experiences to the digital realm.

Sohei Oshiro
Born in 1988 on Miyako Island, Okinawa Prefecture. Dropped out of the School of Commerce at Waseda University. Representative Director of Chiasma Co., Ltd.

He began working part-time at HUgE (Kodansha) while still a student, served as an editor for Them magazine (Righters) from its launch, and went independent in 2018. He launched VOSTOK in March 2019. In October 2021, he launched the art media platform “POST-FAKE.” Focusing on the fields of art, fashion, and culture, he is involved in a wide range of projects, including curation, exhibitions, video production, and publishing.
